Acorn Students Honored at Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day

On behalf of Governor Asa Hutchinson, the Arkansas Department of Education recently sponsored the Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day. The event was held on May 13, 2017, at the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock. Scholastic Honors Day recognizes Arkansas’ best and brightest students. Public and private high schools were encouraged to select two students who best represent academic achievement in the senior class.

Acorn High School was represented by Valedictorian Harly Dearing and Salutatorian Morgan Fagan. Harly is a senior at Acorn High School and plans to attend Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia and major in Accounting. Harly is the eighteen year old daughter of Steve & Felita Dearing of Cove.

Morgan is a senior at Acorn High School and plans to attend The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith and major in Dental Hygiene. Morgan is the seventeen year old daughter of Kandy & Darrell Page and John Fagan of Mena.
