What started out to be a very controlled game ended up with a last shot at the buzzer to determine the game. The Acorn Tigers got the tip and went on a 6 to 0 run in what was an exciting game. They showed no mercy jumping out with an 18 to 6 lead at the end of the first over the Caddo Hills Indians last Thursday night. After letting up a little in the second quarter, they still showed clear command with a score of 33 to 20 going into halftime. Senior Ashton Pardun led the team with 19 of his 22 points in the first half alone. He made 3 three-pointers also in that half. Caddo Hills took advantage of halftime and made a comeback decreasing the deficit to two making it 37 to 35 at the end of the third. In the fourth, teams traded basket for basket. Pardun scored again to tie the game again with one minute left to play. He then steals it back and gets fouled. The Caddo coach received two technical fouls shortly after. Acorn shot four free throws making two of them, increasing the lead to two. Caddo then scored and scored again right as the buzzer sounded. Although the Tigers lost, 52-50, they will still advance on to regional play.
