Alfred E. “Buddy” Brown

Mr. Alfred E. “Buddy” Brown, age 76, of Hatfield, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at his home.

He was born September 18, 1937 in Polk County, Arkansas to Ala E. Brown, Sr. and Mae Morrison Brown.  He was married for 51 happy years to Patricia Wellborn and was of the Presbyterian faith.   He was a heavy equipment operator by trade and also served his country in the United States Navy.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  Buddy will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Brown of the home; four children,

Robert Taylor of Hatfield, Arkansas; Darlene Hesterlee of Hatfield, Arkansas; Ala Brown of Hatfield, Arkansas; and Patricia Skaggs and husband “Jake” of Hughes Springs, Texas; siblings Betty Brewer and husband Pete of Hatfield, Arkansas; Ella Greene of Aiken, South Carolina; Judy Stokes of Beach Island, South Carolina; Sally Gentry and husband Marvin of Mena, Arkansas; Connie Johnson and husband Johnny of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Lonnie Brown and wife Marilyn of Mena, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ala and Mae Brown, 3 brothers, Ala E. Brown, Jr., Earl Brown and James “Son” Wheat, 2 sisters, Dorothy Davis and an infant sister and a great-grandson, Trucker Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Ron Ladd officiating.  Interment will follow in Six Mile Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Wednesday evening, July 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Hesterlee, David Ward, Ronnie Ward, Dustin Beck, Dwayne Hubbard, Paul Arceneaux and Tony Ward.
