BY LARRY BLOCK – American Artisans Eatery and Gallery has announced a Saturday Lunchtime Music Series at their restaurant and art gallery at 615 Mena St. Every Saturday from noon to 1:30 PM, local and regional musicians have begun performing there, to entertain restaurant and gallery patrons at this recently opened downtown Mena establishment.
“We thought it would be interesting to add another art form to our restaurant and art gallery,” said owner Rick Chrisman. American Artisans is already providing a combination of paintings, glassware, pottery, and jewelry, plus what we hope people will agree is artistically prepared soups, salads, and sandwiches. We believe tasteful, appropriate lunchtime music will help further round out what people can enjoy when they visit our place.”
The November lineup for the Saturday Lunchtime Music Series started with the country/rock duo, Sugar Creek, on November 2. They were followed on November 9 by folk singer Peter Lippincott, on November 16 by rock/folk singer-songwriter Tommy Stanco and, on November 23 the soft rock group Straight Tequila. The month will be rounded out on November 30 by folk singer/songwriter Jay Rodgers.
American Artisans Eatery and Gallery owners, Chrisman and his wife Donna are already at work on lining up weekly Saturday performers for December. They are also considering a once-a-month evening music event, which will include a limited dinner menu to accompany a live musical performance, starting early in 2014.
