Mount Ida, AR – The Arkansas Regional Coalition of the Ouachita’s (ARCO) and the Mount Ida Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Montgomery County Economic Opportunity Meeting. The Meeting will be held October 2nd at 10:00 am at the Mount Ida United Methodist Family Life Center.
The goal of the meeting is to discuss economic opportunities and strategies to move Montgomery County forward. Topics to be discussed include: a status update on the closing of the Munro Shoe factory; possible future uses for the Munro Shoe factory building; educational and entrepreneurial opportunities; community strategies for recruiting families and former residents. Approximately 85 people lost their job when Munro announced its closure in August of this year.
