ArkansasGives to Benefit Several Local Charities

BY MELANIE BUCK –

ArkansasGives is preparing for their annual fundraising event and several local organizations are in the mix, trying to raise much needed funds and earn enough for extra bonus dollars offered through the program. ArkansasGives is a 12-hour online giving event that will be held on April 6th, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is sponsored by the Arkansas Community Foundation.

ArkansasGives challenges all Arkansans to make a donation in recognition of the vital work all local charitable organizations do. “Whether it’s feeding the hungry, caring for the elderly, or mentoring our children, the work of Arkansas’s nonprofits affects every citizen and helps improve every community. ArkansasGives is a chance for our state to say thanks,” states their website, www.arkansasgives.org.

Polk County organizations that will benefit from the event include: ARVAC, INC., CASA of the Ouachita Region; Clarice’s Room of Hope; Fresh Start Pregnancy Resource Center; Friends of the Ouachita Trail; Healthy Connections; Mena Art Gallery; Ouachita Little Theatre; Polk County Developmental Center; Rich Mountain Community College Foundation; and The CALL. More organizations may be added the closer the date gets, be sure to visit their website and search Polk County to see the list of beneficiaries.

As a special incentive to give, each gift made through ArkansasGives on April 6th will be matched with additional bonus dollars, giving all participating nonprofits a portion of a pool of bonus dollars made possible through the Arkansas Community Foundation. The more that is donated, the more the organizations will receive in bonus dollars.
