Aubrey Joe Floyd, age 67, of Mena, passed away Thursday, May 14, in Mena.
He was born August 22, 1947 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Billy Joe Floyd and the late Ima Jean Willis Floyd. He was married to Phyllis Lyons and was a wrecker driver and mechanic in the auto repair business. He enjoyed watching his bird feeders and hummingbirds. Joe loved hunting and fishing when he was able to go. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by wife, Phyllis Floyd of Mena; children, Terry and Frankie Armijo and children, Ethan Jewel, Jacob Haddox, and Meghan Armijo; Tina Jo and Tim Laws and children, Travis and Cassie Floyd, Stephanie and Salvador Elizalde, Michael and Brittany Cooke; Michael and Heather Floyd and daughter, Destiny Floyd; Johnny Ray Brown and children, Adrianna, Elijah, and Josiah Brown; Sarina Floyd; Loretta and Brad Hall and daughter, Breanna Brown; Nathan Brown and Julie and children, Nathaniel and Sarah Brown; Shawn Floyd and his three children; and Preston Floyd; Adopted daughter and granddaughter, Erica Tyler Smedley and children, Braylee and Jozulee Smedley; sisters, Darlene Sue Harper and husband, Steve, of Flagstaff, Arizona, Billie Kaye Marshall and husband, Allen, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Jessie Mae and husband, Royal Phillips, of Tucson, Arizona, Flo Ellen and husband, Gail Walker, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Pam Bates of Mena, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Jerry and wife, Johnnie Lines, of Oden, Arkansas; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Joe and Ima Jean Floyd; a son, Philip Ashley Brown; granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Timmie; and grandparents, Siberian and Naomi Willis.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 10 a.m., at the Union Grove Church in Acorn with Sister Marie Ponds and Brother J.B. Bass officiating. Interment will follow in the Gaston Cemetery in Montgomery County under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Smedley, Travis Floyd, Michael Cooke, Salvador Elizalde, Ethan Jewell, Jacob Haddox, Nathaniel Brown, and Elijah Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Willis, Sean Owens, Ray Goodner, and Al Schutz.
