Mrs. Bobby J. Miranda, age 78 of Wickes, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in Mena.
She was born August 9, 1935 in Grannis, Arkansas to the late Nathan Wilson and the late Elisa Stephens Wilson. She was happily married for many years to Carlos Miranda until his passing in 2012. Bobby proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a member of the Wickes Church of the Nazarene. She was a Gold Star Mother and a devoted Patriot, losing one of her own sons to the service of God and Country. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by sons Phillip Miranda and wife Tammy of Cove, Arkansas, Christopher Miranda currently in Afghanistan, Paul Miranda and wife Mary Ann of Benton, Arkansas, Jeremy Miranda of Wickes, Arkansas; daughters Carla Miranda and special friend Jerry Thompson of Alexander, Arkansas, Karen Miranda of Alexander, Arkansas; brother Edward Wilson of Wickes, Arkansas; sisters Judy Bingham of Wickes, Arkansas, Becky Waller of Wickes, Arkansas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nathan and Elisa Wilson; husband Carlos Miranda; three sons Leon Miranda, Alfred Miranda, and Richard Miranda.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. the Vandervoort First Baptist Church with Brother Mike Wilson officiating. Interment follows in Oak Grove Cemetery at Wickes. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
Pallbearers will be Sam Ahrens, Willie Shewmake, Sol Wagner, Will Rios, Dr. Jeff Ulmer and Leon McCleskey.
