Bobby Ross Beaver

Bobby Ross Beaver, age 78, of Mena, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born July 10, 1939 in Acorn, Arkansas to the late Clifford Q. Beaver and Elizabeth “Bess” Ray Beaver.  Bob was retired from Acorn Schools.  During his years in the education system, he was a bus driver, coached basketball, baseball and volleyball and taught Drivers Education.  His main field in education was History.  He was also a member of the Job Corp. and National Guard.  Bob valued education intensely.  He loved his students and will be fondly remembered for his kind and patient guidance.  He also loved fishing, hunting, baseball and football with his favorite team being the St. Louis Cardinals.  He was known for his jokes and witty humor and will be dearly missed.

Survivors are sons, Stanley Neal Beaver of Mena, Arkansas, Clifford Andrew Beaver of Mena, Arkansas; sister, Sandy Kuhns of Colorado; grandchildren, Chris Beaver, Cathy Beaver, Jason Beaver, James Beaver, Marissa Beaver, Brandy Hall, Brad Mitchell and Misty Everett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Peggy Irene Reed Beaver, son, Brian Keith Beaver, and brother, Bill Beaver.

Bob was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Graveside memorial service will be Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Owens Chapel in Acorn, Arkansas. Arrangements were made under the direction of Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Acorn School Reunion Scholarship fund or a local animal Shelter.
