Staff Report
Pulse Multi-Media welcomed Jeri Pearson Borst to the team July 20. Borst has taken on the responsibilities of news director and editor of the Pulse.
She and her husband, Beau Borst, recently returned to Mena after career decisions took the couple out of state.
“I couldn’t be happier with our decision to come home,” Borst said. “We are able to be close to family now, and I’m looking forward to seeing familiar faces again.”
In 2018, Borst left a news position in Mena and accepted offers to be the managing editor for a daily newspaper Mississippi, followed by being the managing editor of a daily newspaper and two weekly papers in Oklahoma. She began her journalism career in Louisiana as a reporter. Her dedication and commitment to news and communities has continued over the past ten years.
“Local news is my passion. I genuinely believe citizens have a responsibility to be informed. The role the press plays in making sure information is accurate and complete is critical to an informed public,” Borst said. “That is something I cherish and feel honored to participate in.”
When she is not at work, she is usually playing in the creek, taking an aimless drive through the woods or singing while her husband plays guitar.

Just noticed there were 27 reports of identity fraud in our area in a week yet no story in the Pulse alerting the public of how this is happening and what method criminals were using to steal identities. Seems that should have been front page news?
