    ‘Planet X’ Lands at Acorn School Campus

    From the Museum of Discovery, Planet X came to Acorn School recently.  Science students in grades 5-8 collected data as they completed hands-on investigations during interactive science activities.  Ten stations included earthquake building, robotics, rocket design, engine repair, laser refraction, solar energy production, airlift using Bernouli’s Principle, decoding incoming messages, and communication.     Holly Harshman Field Day 2014

    Goodner Earns Top Award at UCA

    Jacob Goodner, a 2009 Mena High School graduate has earned the Outstanding Masters of Accountancy Student for 2013-2014 award, the highest accounting award given at the University of Central Arkansas. He is currently completing his degree of Masters of Accountancy. Goodner will begin his accounting career on September 1 with BKD Public Accounting Firm in Little Rock.

    Kent Receives Chamber Scholarship

    The Mena/Polk County Chamber of Commerce was proud to present the 2014 Mena/Polk County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship today to Maegan Kent, a senior at Mena High School for her excellent academic achievement. Maegan has maintained a GPA of 3.31while working for chamber member McDonald’s. Maegen plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas to study Radiography.
