Cleveland Adam Hughes, Jr., age 62, of Ink, Arkansas died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Mena Regional Health System. He was born on Tuesday, December 26, 1950 to Cleveland Adam, Sr., and Helen Gambill Hughes in Greenville, Mississippi.
Cleve, as he was known by his family and friends, was a very outgoing person by being very active in the Boy Scouts as a leader; a member of the Ouachita Craft Guild, Ouachita Beekeepers Association and Polk County Farmers Market. Cleve loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow. Cleve worked for himself over 30 years at The Hughes Company as a Certified Public Accountant. He enjoyed beekeeping and gardening. Cleve was a member of the Church of God. Cleve was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Adam Hughes; and one sister Mary Francis Webb.
Cleve is survived by his wife Kim Hughes of Ink; two sons Matt Hughes of DeQueen, Arkansas and Michael Hughes of Jacksonville, Arkansas; five grandchildren Adam, Mason and Bryce Hughes of DeQueen and Austin and Christopher Hughes of Rayville, Louisiana; one great grandchild Haidyn Hughes of Rayville, Louisiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were Monday, November 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Concord Cemetery in Ink with Pastor Fred Porter officiating and under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena. Visitation was Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena.
Honorary Pallbearers were Eddie Haines, John Snider, Albert Bogart and Phil Bailey.
