Washington, D.C.— Congressman Tom Cotton (R-Dardanelle) released the following statement after the House passed the Health Exchange Security and Transparency Act of 2014:
“Today the House passed important legislation to hold the Obama Administration accountable for yet another broken Obamacare promise. In its first three months of operation, the exchange website saw multiple security breaches. Even more disturbing, it’s come to light that the Obama administration failed to conduct adequate security checks and ignored repeated internal warnings that the website was not secure.
“It is shameful that President Obama would put political objectives ahead of security and accountability and threaten to veto this commonsense legislation. Arkansans deserve to know their personal information is secure, especially when it comes to their healthcare. At a minimum, they should be properly notified if a breach occurs.”
