Polk County 4-H members competed in the first annual Dairy and Egg Recipe Contest on February 17, 2020. The contests were sponsored by the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Farm Bureau. Winners for the Dairy Recipe Contest – Party Idea included: Cloverbuds (5-8 years old) 1st place- Tuck S., 2nd place Cody R.; Juniors (9-13-year-old) 1st place Shelby R., 2nd place Savannah C.; Senior (14-19 years old) 1st place Lily O. Overall Party Dish was Shelby Rusert. Main Dish Category winners included: Juniors- 1st place Kohlea C.; Seniors- 1st place Lily O. Overall winner for Main Dish was Lily O. Each of the overall winners in Dairy Contest received a thermal bag, an apron, mixing bowl, and mixing spoons sponsored by Farm Bureau. The Egg Recipe Main Dish category winners were: Cloverbud- 1st place Tuck S.; Seniors- 1st place Shayna B., 2nd Place Lily O.
Each of the winners in both contests received monetary awards sponsored by the Polk County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee.

March 3-4, Acorn FCCLA attended FCCLA State Star Competition and State Conference in Hot Springs. The Chapter received a Gold Star Chapter Award, Community Service National Program Award, and Platinum State Project Award. Colten Quebedeaux and Kenzie Daniels earned State Star Events Awards. Quebedeaux received a bronze medal. Daniels received a silver medal. Both will represent Acorn High School and the state of Arkansas at the Nationals FCCLA Star Competition and National Conference in Washington DC this July. Submitted photos.
