In part of honoring Veterans this Veteran’s Day, the James K. Polk Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, have recently become a Vietnam Anniversary Commemorative Partner, along with 44 sister DAR chapters from around the state. There are over 8,000 partners nationwide. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.
The partnership was created to “give Vietnam Veterans the thanks and honor they should have received so long ago,” said Kathy Haglar, 1st Vice Regent of James K. Polk DAR. For more information on the commemorative program, visit www.vietnamwarfiftieth.com.
As part of giving honor locally, the James K. Polk DAR, along with Pulse Multi-Media, and local business sponsors, Vietnam Minutes will be read from local Veterans on KENA 104.1FM, during each news broadcast, beginning Thursday, November 8th and running through Wednesday, November 11th.
We welcome you to join in, listen to their stories, and seek veterans out to thank them for their service this Veteran’s Day. You are also encouraged to attend the Veteran’s Day Parade and ceremonies on Wednesday, November 11th. For a complete schedule of events,: http://issuu.com/docs/1104-pcdt
