Flora Emmaline Cogburn left this world to go be with the Lord on Friday, October 6, 2017 in Mt. Ida, Arkansas at the age of 96. She was born Wednesday, August 10, 1921 in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma to William and Lula Cogburn. Flora married Harvey Cogburn in 1937 in Mena, AR and together they raised 4 children. She was a devoted wife and mother, the light of her life was her children and grandchildren. She was a meticulous person in everything she did and she did it with pride, such as raising a garden, keeping a clean & tidy home and cooking for her family. She loved all her family and friends unconditionally and always strived to be a good friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lula Golden Cogburn; her husband, Harvey Tilman Cogburn; her children, Billy Ray Cogburn and Betty June Ansley; son in-laws, Bill Bismark, Stanley Evans and James Ansley; sisters, Laura Cogburn, Cora Cogburn, Dora Belle Cogburn; brothers, Jessie Cogburn, Melvin Cogburn, Dewey Cogburn, Vester Cogburn, John Cogburn, Willie Cogburn, and Arthur Cogburn.
She is survived by her daughters, Dessie Evans of Piqua, Ohio and Nora Bismark of Mena, Arkansas and daughter in-law, Marquita Manning; grandchildren, Sandy Vondenberger, Sherri Smith, Darla Brooks, Donald Ansley, Bonita Kent, Deanna Kimball, Jennifer Simmons, Melinda Deramus, Scott Evans, Kim Sykora and Beth Bismark; great-grandchildren, Jason Vondenberger, Michelle Howell, Amanda Vondenberger, Matthew Jess, Cory Lewellen, Zachary Sykora, Tyler Sykora, Maegan Kent, Nick Kent, Ansley Simmons, Bradley Deramus, Brandon Deramus, Jacob Deramus, Gracie Deramus, Brooke Evans, Korren Evans, Brady Evans, and Bismark Kimball; great-great grandchildren, Zayden Sykora and Adeline Sykora, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 9, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tim Harper and Bonita Kent officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. at Bowser family Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Donald Ansley, Cory Lewellen, Nick Kent, Bradley Deramus, Brandon Deramus, Jacob Deramus, Scott Evans, Zachary Sykora, and Bismark Kimball.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Polk County Senior Center, 401 Autumn Drive, Mena, Arkansas 71953.
