Mary Sue Varner, age 80, of Mena, Arkansas, went to her heavenly home Friday, February 9, 2018 in Mena, Arkansas
She was born on January 15, 1938 in Mena, Arkansas to Homer Meridieth and Iona Medford Meridieth. Mary Sue was happily married to Sam Varner. She worked as secretary for TC Masters Cable Company and retired from Beasley Wood Funeral Home as an Administrative Assistant. Mary Sue enjoyed painting, playing music, reading, and going camping with family and friends. She loved God and always knew He would provide for her and her family. Mary Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all.
She is survived by husband, Sam Varner of Hatfield, Arkansas; sons, Brent Tibbs and wife Megan of Hatfield, Arkansas, Sam “Nub” Varner, Jr. and wife Susan of Hatfield, Arkansas, Steve “Shucky” Varner of Houston, Texas, Mike Varner and wife Judy of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; grandchildren, Brittney Tibbs Via and husband Cody, B. J. Schuller and wife Maddison, Lowell Tibbs, Marrisa Tibbs, Dustin Tibbs and wife Kim, Darla Rowe and husband Easton, Joe Varner, Tisha Norman, Todd Varner, Kyle Varner, Samuel Varner, and Mandy Varner; 11great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Jenkins of Houston, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Iona Meridieth; son, Ricky Tibbs; sister, Coy Quinn; stepson, Stanley “Punchie” Varner; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Tibbs.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Beasley Wood Chapel with Pastor Ron Tilley officiating with Doug Quinn and Steve Quinn as speakers. Interment will follow in the Six Mile Cemetery in Hatfield, Arkansas under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
First Assembly of God Church in Mena will provide the meal for family and friends immediately following the service.
Pallbearers will be Mike Crowley, Doug Quinn, Kevin Randolph, Jerry Ralls and Brian Kesterson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Bob Varner.
Visitation is general.
