He was born in Niagara Falls, New York on October 1, 1933, the son of the late Frederick George Baldwin and the late Georgina Shook Baldwin. He was married for many happy years to Barbara Lindsey. Melvin retired from the United States Air Force as a TSGT. He gave 22 years of service as a Master EOD Technician, serving in both Korea and Vietnam. He was of the Episcopal faith and was a member of the VFW, the DAV and the NRA. Melvin was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He was much loved and will be remembered always by his family and friends.
He is survived by wife Barbara Lindsey Baldwin of the home; sons Kenneth Baldwin of Randolph, Maine, Charles Reese Baldwin of Monroe, Maine; stepdaughter Phyllis Joan Keith and husband Kenneth of Tuttle, Oklahoma; stepson Ray Kwok and wife Fatma of Harvest, Alabama; sister Anita Leo of Niagara Falls, New York; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 brothers.
Memorial services will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Beasley-Wood Chapel. Interment will be at a later date at the National Cemetery in Ft. Smith, Arkansas with full Military Honors rendered by the United States Air Force.
