(MENA) The Mena City Council will consider as a part of its business meeting, the appointments of several individuals to either fill the remaining terms of people or for the initial appointment to serve on local boards.
Christy Plunkett would fulfill the remaining five year term on the Mena Airport Commission, replacing Nancy Wright, whose term expires February 26, 2023. Lynn Ashley would fulfill the unexpired three year term left vacated by Tim Masters, whose term expires on March 4, 2020.
Council is likely to reappoint Phillip Wilson and Duane Corcoran to five year terms each, expiring on February 26, 2024 to the Mena Airport Commission.
Meanwhile, Council will reconsider the reappointment of Vicki Agee and Tiffany Lane to the Mena Depot Commission, whose terms would expire on March 4, 2022.
Mena Mayor Seth Smith will deliver his first State of the City Address at the meeting. He will be looking at his vision for the city and some of the issues that he would like to address from last year’s campaign.
Other business to be considered will include the possible addition of an office and restroom at the Mena Animal Control Facility. In addition, Council will also consider the sale of the city’s oil storage tanks that are located on Miller Street.
The meeting gets underway at 6pm in Council chambers in downtown.
