The Mena Junior Boys Track Team is making waves in a variety of track and field events, according to Coach Randy Peters. He is excited about what the boys have accomplished so far and can’t wait to continue to watch them succeed.
In their most recent meet, they took 2nd place as a team, right behind Nashville, which is a fete all on its own. Mena’s competitors also placed well in individual and team events. Results included:
100 meter dash: Zane Stephens, 4th in 11.77 seconds and Caleb Holmes, 6th at 11.91.
200 meter dash: Zane Stephens, 4th in 24.57; Caleb Holmes, 8th in 25.46.
400 meter: Izia Ingoglia, 2nd in 57.59; Mathew McCravens, 3rd in 61.
800 meter: Curtis Curry, 2nd, in 2:13; Devan Adams, 3rd, in 2:23.
1600 meter: Devan Adams, 1st in 5:21; Logan Myers, 3rd in 5:24.
110 meter hurdles: Chris Bollmeyer, 3rd in 18.09.
4×100 meter relay: 3rd as a team in 48.16. The team consisted of Zane Stephens, Caleb Holmes, Izia Ingoglia, and Marc Wilson.
4×400 meter relay: 2nd as a team in 4.02. The team consisted of Jeremiah Swint, Jacinto Perez, Curtis Curry, and Izia Ingoglia.
4×800 meter relay: 1st as a team 9.36. The team consisted of Devan Adams, Curtis Curry, Thadeus Nance, and Damon Clark.
High Jump: Chris Bollmeyer, 6th with a 5’2” jump.
Pole Vault: Mathew McCravens, 5th with a 9′ jump; Thadeus Nance, 7th with an 8’6″ jump.
Long Jump: Zane Stephens, 1st with an 18-03 jump; Marc Wilson, 7th with a 16-11-5 jump.
Triple Jump: Caleb Holmes, 1st with 40-1-25; Marc Wilson, 7th with 35-03.
Shot: Braxton Bahr, 2nd with a 42′ throw.
Disc: Braxton Bahr, 1st with a 136-04 throw.
