The following information was received from Mena Police Department for the week of February 9 – February 15, 2014. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

February 10, 2014
Officers investigated an allegation of a domestic disturbance at a local motel. No charges were filed.
A local woman reported that her son’s bicycle and ripstick had been stolen from her residence. The bicycle was later recovered.
Report was taken of an attack by a neighbor’s dog of a local man. No charges have been filed.
Taylor Delanie Dees, 21, of Cove, was arrested and charged with DWI and improper passing after officers responded to report of an accident at the intersection of Reine and Reeves.
Carl R. Herring, Jr., 25, of Mena was charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was served an outstanding felony warrant as well.
February 11, 2014
A local man reported that his former wife had attacked him. Case is pending further investigation.
A Mena man reported that someone had broken into his vehicle and had stolen prescription medications. Case is pending.
February 12, 2014
A Mena woman reported that two mailboxes at her residence had been vandalized. Case is pending.
February 13, 2014
Shawn A. Long, 37, of Mena was charged with violation of an order of protection and driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was also served an outstanding warrant from the Polk County sheriff’s office for failure-to-appear.
February 14, 2014
Shawna Ryals, 22, of Lockesburg was arrested on a felony absconding warrant from the Arkansas Board of Parole.
Brandon S. Rippy, 22, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant from Polk County.
February 15, 2014
Christopher Steven Davy, 22, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Montgomery County.
Officers completed an additional eight reports and worked six accidents.
