The following information was received from Mena Police Department for the week of March 2 – 8, 2014. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.
March 2, 2014
Corie D. Bass, 27, of Minneapolis, Minnesota was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license.
March 3, 2014
No criminal reports were filed.
March 4, 2014
Nicole Neva Dollarhide, 18, of Mena was charged with theft of property (shoplifting) after officers were called to a local grocery store.
March 5, 2014
Officers were called to a disturbance at a local convenience store. Witnesses reported that a man and woman were arguing and it was getting out-of-hand. When officers arrived, the situation had been diffused and no charges were filed.
A Smithville, Oklahoma woman reported that someone had taken $50.00 from her purse while she was in Mena. Case is pending.
Pat-Sand Barber, 28, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license. She was transported to the local jail.
Report was taken of someone setting a dream-catcher on fire at a local residence. It was hanging on the side of the mobile home near the door, and some damage was sustained to the home. Case is pending.
Officers retrieved an abandoned bicycle from a local street and have it until such time as the owner is identified.
March 6, 2014
Driver of an 18-wheeler reported that while the vehicle was parked on the lot of a local truck stop one of the mirrors was taken from the truck. Case is pending.
A woman reported that an unknown truck driver approached her on the parking lot of a local retail store, and that the man attempted to get her into the cab of the truck. She was able to flee and the case is being investigated.
Robert Wallis, 32, and Kizzie Brown, 30 both of Mena were arrested on felony warrants for delivery of a schedule III controlled substance.
March 7, 2014
Michael Lee Brown, 28, of Mena was charged with third degree battery, terroristic threatening, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
March 8, 2014
Report was taken of an 18-wheeler doing damage to a crossing arm on the Kansas City Southern crossing at Mena Street and Highway 71. Deputies assisted in stopping the truck and the driver stated that he did not know there was damage done. All pertinent information was obtained about the incident.
Officers completed an additional five reports and worked seven accidents.
