Mena Police Department – November 3 – 9

The following information was received from Mena Police Department for the week of November 3 – November 9, 2013.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

 

November 3, 2013

Officers responded to a call regarding a fight at a local residence.  The parties did not wish to press charges.

November 4, 2013

A local woman complained that her neighbor with whom she shared a duplex apartment had been beating on the adjoining walls and causing a disturbance.  The neighbor reported that she was retaliating because a dog in the other apartment had kept her up all night.  No charges were filed.

A Mena woman reported that she thought she heard someone in her bedroom.  The area was checked but nothing was found to be missing, and nobody was in the house.

November 5, 2013

A Mena couple reported that they are receiving vulgar and harassing phone calls from an unknown party.  Case is under investigation.

Janese Julian, 30, of Mena was charged with public intoxication after a call to a local church regarding a woman causing a disturbance.

November 6, 2013

No criminal reports filed.

November 7, 2013

Several tools and a trailer were stolen from a local man.  The individuals responsible have been identified, and officers have turned the case over to the prosecutor for issuance of warrants.

Rodney Carl Herring, 56, of Mena was arrested on a felony warrant.

November 8, 2013

A local man reported that he is receiving harassing calls from his estranged sister.  Case is pending.

Employees at a local convenience store reported a gas-skip.  Case is pending.

November 9, 2013

A local woman reported that while she was shopping inside a local retail store, someone wrote a disparaging comment on the door of her vehicle using a permanent marker.  Case is pending

A local woman reported that an acquaintance had stolen her television, purse, and cell phone from her residence.  Case is pending.

Jason E. Tomlin, 35, of Mena was arrested on two outstanding warrants, one a misdemeanor and one a felony.

Officers completed an additional seven reports and worked four accidents.
