Mena Police Department – October 27 – November 2

The following information was received from the Mena Police Department for the week of October 28 – November 3, 2013.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

October 27, 2013

A local woman reported that while she was shopping someone had broken out a front window of her house.  Case is pending further investigation.

Steven Lee Hooper, 27, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Sebastian County.

October 28, 2013

Officers responded to an altercation at a local residence.  Several individuals were involved, and case is pending interviews of all suspects and witnesses.

An employee of a local real estate company reported the break-in and theft of several items.  They were taken from a house that has been subdivided into several apartments.

Case is pending.

Owner of a local truck parts business reported the theft of several items.  Case is pending interview of suspects from other thefts of similar items.

October 29, 2013

A local woman reported that someone had come into her home and taken two cell phones.  Case is pending.

Employees of a local convenience store reported a gas-skip.  Case is pending.

A local woman reported that someone had stolen a metal stove base from her yard.  She located the item at a local recycling business.  Case is pending interview of the suspect who sold the item.

October 30, 2013

A 14-year-old Mena youth was charged with battery after officers were called to a local residence regarding a fight.

Andy Ryan Sebren, 32, of Mena was charged with battery and residential burglary after a call to a local residence.

October 31, 2013

Owner of a local laundromat reported that someone had attempted to break into the maintenance room of the business.  Case is pending identity of suspect on a surveillance tape.

A local youth reported that he was being followed and harassed by acquaintances of his.  The incident is one in an ongoing problem.  Case is pending.

Report was taken of several items stolen from a local business.  Case is pending interview of suspects in similar incidents.

A 16-year-old Mena girl was cited for shoplifting after an incident at a local store.

Anton Hicks Colt, 31, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Louisiana after a call regarding a man holding a sign wanting a ride to Texarkana.

November 1, 2013

A local man reported the theft of a vehicle from his front yard.  The vehicle was later recovered.  No arrests have been made at this time, but police have a suspect in mind.

November 2, 2013

Tearesa Michelle Denton, 41, of Mena was charged with battery, and was served an outstanding felony warrant and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.  Also charged in the incident with battery, theft of property, possession of a controlled substance, and endangering the welfare of a minor was Lana Guinn, 27, also of Mena.  Felony charges may follow.

Employees of a local convenience store reported a gas-skip.  Case is pending.

Jamie Don Miller, 40, of Mena was arrested for DWI.

Officers completed an additional 14 reports and worked five accidents.
