Mena Police Department – October 6 – 12

The following information was received from the Mena Police Department.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

October 6, 2013

A local woman reported being harassed and threatened.  Case is pending.

A Mena woman reported someone had stolen items from her house.  Case is pending.

October 7, 2013

A local man reported being harassed.  The suspect is an acquaintance of the victim.  Case is pending.

Report was taken of a verbal altercation between two Mena men.

October 8, 2013

Officers responded to an alarm call at a local auto parts store.  The alarm had been accidentally tripped when a vendor was delivering goods to the building.  The area was secured.

Jamie Lee May, 31, of Mena was charged with DWI, second offense, and driving left of center after a routine traffic stop.

Chuy Perez, 24, of Mena was charged with public intoxication after an incident on the parking lot of a local farm store.

October 9, 2013

A local woman reported that a neighbor is sending her threatening text messages on her cell phone.  Case is pending interview of suspect.

A local business owner reported that someone had damaged the cover of an electrical outlet on the building.  Case is pending.

October 10, 2013

Report was taken of someone vandalizing animal live traps set out by the animal control officer.  Case is pending.

Linda Lindsey, 45, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

October 11, 2013

A Polk County woman reported that her cell phone had been stolen while she was shopping at a local retail store.  During the investigation, the woman called back to report that the phone had been located and returned to the owner.

Report was made of a local couple fighting.  It was determined that it was a verbal dispute only and that they were no longer arguing.

Robert Eugene Heath, 29, of Mena was charged with DWI and speeding after a routine traffic stop.

October 12, 2013

Report was taken of a break-in to a local house.  The residents are out of town and their son is keeping check on the residence.  Case is pending.

Owner of a local restaurant reported a burglary.  Someone broke into the building and stole cash.  Case is pending interview of suspects.

Justin Thomas Keaster, 30, of Mena was charged with violation of an order of protection.  The arrest followed a call to a local apartment complex.

Officers completed an additional 14 reports and worked eight accidents.
