The Oden Woods & Waters Club is in the process of completing their Fall work and recreation activities. The OWWC is an outdoor education and recreation student group who focus on the moto, “When you take something from nature, always give back something in return.” Members of the Oden High School club participate in conservation projects, community service projects, and outdoor recreation events throughout the school year. The club is funded by community donations and an annual muzzle loader fundraiser sponsored by local businesses.
*Fall Fishing Tournament*
The OWWC held a fishing tournament October 5th at Northfork Lake. Club members competed against each other from 7:00 am to 10:00 amto land the biggest bass. Club members we provided breakfast, lunch, and prizes from Dick’s Sporting Goods. Pictured from left to right are Brandi Summitt, Eric Summitt, Skylar Starr, and Travis Gray.

The OWWC held a fishing tournament October 5th at North-fork Lake. Pictured from left to right are second place winner, Brandi Summitt, and first place winner, Travis Gray. Brandi won a four person tent and Travis won a pair of Field and Stream boots.
*Oden Rifle Range*
Members of the OWWC held a trash clean-up at the Oden Rifle Range and Rifle Range Pond in September. The club assists the US National Forest Service by picking up trash twice a year along the road, pond, and range. *Serendipity Trail Clean-up*
Members of the OWWC helped maintain the Serendipity Interpretive Trail in September. The club assists the US National Forest Service by performing maintenance services throughout the trail located on Highway 88 West of Oden.
