Report of several forged checks on a closed account, totaling losses at $155.72.  Investigation continues.

April 11, 2017

Arrested was Ed Martin, 46, of Mena, on a Bond Revocation Warrant.

Report from complainant on Highway 246 West near Hatfield of damage done to a yard by an unknown vehicle.

April 12,  2017

Report from complainant on Highway 375 West near Mena of $200.00 in damages done to a window. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 414 near Hatfield of the theft of three firearms, all valued at $1,229.00. Investigation continues.

April 13, 2017

Arrested was Floyd P. Evans, 58, of Grannis, on a Warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose to Deliver and additional charges of Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver, Maintaining a Drug Premise, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Theft by Receiving, and Illicit Still.

Also arrested was Don L. Hoglan, 59, of Grannis, on Charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance.

Arrested was Brian A. Severson, 40, of Cove, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Arrested was Jerry D. Higgins, 42, of Mena, on a Body Attachment Warrant and two Warrants for Failure to Appear.

April 14, 2017

Report from complainant on Highway 71 South near Potter that a person refused to return a vehicle that was loaned to them. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Little Bear Lane near Mena of problems with neighbors concerning an ongoing problem. Deputy responded.

Arrested was Cord D. Olson, 31, of Hatfield, on a Warrant for Delivery of Methamphetamine.

Report of an unauthorized person on Polk 89 near Mena led to the arrest of Bryant Cooper, 27, of Spiro, OK, on a Charge of Criminal Trespass.

April 15, 2017

Report of two hunters being accidentally shot, causing only minor injuries, while walking near Polk 78 near Potter. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 67 near the Opal community of an earlier domestic disturbance. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Traffic stop on Highway 71 South near Hatfield led to a Citation for Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance being issued to Stephen C. Hilton, 28, of Hot Springs.

Report of a domestic disturbance on Polk 16 near Cove led to the arrest of Kerrie L. Ballew, 37, of Wickes, on a Charge of Domestic Battery 3rd Degree.

April 16, 2017

Report from complainant on Polk 184 near Acorn of vandalism and the theft of a game camera, totaling losses at $70.00. Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance on Amber Lane near Mena. Deputy responded.

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Skyler C. Hebert, 30, of Gilham, on a Louisiana Warrant.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked one vehicle accident this week.

Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 26 Incarcerated Inmates, with 11 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility.
