Polk County Sheriff’s Department – February 10 – 16, 2014

The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of February 10 – February 16, 2014.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

February 10, 2014

Report from complainant on Highway 88 East in the Ink community of the theft of motor fuel, valued at $1,125.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from Polk County Detention Center of $50.00 in damages done to the facility by an inmate led to Taylor D. Dees, 21, of Cove, being issued a Citation for Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree.

Report from walk-in complainant of an individual that had violated an Order of Protection.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

February 11, 2014

Report from walk-in complainant of concerns involving two towed vehicles.  Officer advised that the issue was a civil matter.

Arrested was William T. Todd, 38, of Hatfield, on a Warrant for Absconding.

Arrested was Zackery A. Orr, 21, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

February 12, 2014

Report from complainant on North Lewis Street in Cove of being harassed by an individual.  Officer advised the subject not to return to the property.

Report from complainant on Hillcrest Lane near Mena of the theft of motorcycle parts, valued at $1,750.00.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

February 13, 2014

Report of a domestic disturbance on Mena Street in Hatfield.  One of the subjects left the residence before the officer arrived.  Complainant refused to press charges.

Report from complainant of being harassed by an individual.  Officer advised party of legal options.

Report from complainant on Polk 16 near Cove of receiving threatening phone calls.  Officer advised that this was a scam and gave the complainant further contact information.

Arrested was Marsha D. Denton, 29, of Mena, on a Warrant for Theft of Property.

February 14, 2014

Report from complainant on Polk 419 near the Potter community of the theft of a firearm, valued at $500.00.  Investigation continues.

Report of problems with a juvenile led to a 13-year-old Mena male being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from complainant on Fleming Street in Mena of the theft of a vehicle, valued at $10,000.00.  Investigation continues.

Traffic stop on Highway 246 West near Hatfield led to the arrest of Regina I. Barby, 44, of Mena, on Charges of DWI and Careless/Prohibited Driving.  Also arrested was David A. Posey, 60, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Arrested was Kerri M. McKinnis, 47, of Mena, on Charges of Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.

February 15, 2014

Arrested was Jamie D. Miller, 40, of Mena, on Charges of DWI, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, No Seatbelt and Violation of an Order of Protection.

Arrested was Charles E. Duff, 26, of Mena, on a Charge of Domestic Battery 3rd Degree and a Montgomery County Warrant.

February 16, 2014

Report of a suspicious fire on Polk 76 East near Mena.  Investigation continues.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked two vehicle accidents this week.
