The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of February 17 – February 23, 2014. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.
February 17, 2014
Report from complainant on Polk 17 near Vandervoort of an alarm and open door. Officer responded, nothing appeared to be missing.
Report of a domestic disturbance on Polk 26 near Hatfield led to the arrest of Kerri M. McKinnis, 47, of Mena, on Charges of Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.
Report from complainant on Polk 71 near the Yocana community of the theft of a vehicle, valued at $150.00. Investigation continues.
Report from complainant on Highway 375 West near Mena of the theft of farm equipment, valued at $1,200.00. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.
February 18, 2014
Report of a physical disturbance led to a 16-year-old Mena male being issued Juvenile Citations for Battery 3rd Degree and Disorderly Conduct. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.
Report of a disorderly 13-year-old Mena male led to the subject being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Arrested was Steven Duran, 55, of Mena, on a Benton County Body Attachment Warrant.
February 20, 2014
While on routine patrol on Polk 76 East near Mena, officer recovered a stolen vehicle.
Report from a business on Highway 71 North near Mena of the theft of building material, valued at $1,350.00. Investigation continues.
Report of an unruly teenager led to a 17-year-old Cove male being issued Juvenile Citations for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Arrested was William A. Wimbley, 56, of Eagletown, OK, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.
Report from walk-in complainant of receiving threatening phone calls. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.
Report from a business on Highway 71 South in the Potter community of an alarm and an unlocked window. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Report from complainant of problems with a former spouse concerning child visitation.

Arrested was Cheston L. Vincent, 33, of Amity, on a Warrant for Battery 3rd Degree.
February 23, 2014
Report from a business in Hatfield of the theft of appliances and scrap metal, all valued at $300.00. Investigation continues.
Report from a business in Cove of the theft of motor fuel, valued at $374.00. Investigation continues.
Report from complainant on Highway 375 East near Mena that dogs had killed their five deer. Officer advised complainant of legal options.
Arrested was James W. Durham, 54, of Hatfield, on a Body Attachment Warrant.
Arrested was Austin W. McMillan, 18 of Mena, on a Charge of Disorderly Conduct.
Traffic stop on Highway 71 South in Mena led to the arrest of Nicholas J. Williams, 20, of Royal, on Charges of Defective Equipment, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License and Possessing Instruments of Crime.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked three vehicle accidents this week.
