Report of a domestic disturbance on Highway 88 East near the Yocana community led to the arrest of Kenneth D. Frost, 43, of Mena, on a Charge of Domestic Battery 3rd Degree.

Report from complainant on Highway 375 East near Mena of the theft of a vehicle. Deputies responded.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

January 10, 2017

Report from complainant on Polk 92 near the Shady Grove community of the break-in and theft of household items.  Investigation continues.

Traffic stop led to Citations for No Liability Insurance and No License Plate being issued to Amber D. Brock, 38, of Mena.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Troy A. Smith, 51, of Cove, on Charges of DWI, Careless/Prohibited Driving and Refusal to Submit.

Report from complainant of the break-in to a storage unit in Hatfield and the theft of tools and furniture, totaling losses at $994.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Freedom Lane near Potter of the theft of mail from mailboxes.  Investigation continues.

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Robert R. Montemayor, 37, of Pharr, TX, on Charges of Improper Use of a Tag, No Liability Insurance, Possession of an Instrument of Crime, Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Report from complainant on Polk 689 near Mena of the theft of two generators, valued at $1,000.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from two Mena individuals of the forgery and theft of checks, totaling losses at $1,635.00.  Investigation continues.

January 14, 2017

Report of a car on fire on Highway 375 West near Mena.

Traffic stop on Polk 26 near Hatfield led to Citations for Driving Left of Center and Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance being issued to Trenton L. Dees, 18, of Smithville, OK.

Report from complainant on Loftis Creek Lane near the Yocana community of damage to vehicle tires, totaling losses at $400.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 78 near Potter of individuals trespassing on their property.  Deputy advised all parties involved to stay off of the neighbor’s property.

Report from a Mena woman of problems with her teenage daughter.  Deputies responded.

Report of a domestic disturbance on Polk 59 near the Board Camp community.  Deputies responded.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of a disturbance on Hornbeck Avenue in Vandervoort.  Deputies responded.  All parties involved were advised to cease all contact.

Arrested was Tyler W. Everett, 25, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Report of a two-vehicle accident led to a Citation for No Proof of Insurance being issued to Bonnie F. Willis, 25, of Hatfield.

Report from complainant on Highway 88 East near Mena of damage done to windows and doors.  Information has been forwarded to the proper authorities.

Report of a 911 call from an individual lost in the area of Polk 402 near Cove.  Search teams were able to locate the individual.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked three accidents reports this week.

Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 24 Incarcerated Inmates, with 9 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility.

January 16, 2017

Report from complainant on Highway 270 near Acorn of a stolen vehicle led to the arrest of Michael W. Williams, 45, of Irving, TX, on Warrants for Failure to Appear and two counts of Failure to Comply with a Court Order, and Scott County Warrants also.

Report of a juvenile receiving a suspicious text message.

Report of a disturbance led to a 12-year-old female being issued a Juvenile Citation for Theft of Property. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Stephen M. Kight, 32, of Cove, on Charges of DWI, Careless/Prohibited Driving, No Driver’s License and Refusal to Submit.

January 17, 2017

Report from complainant in Polk County of the theft of checks in Texas. Information has been forwarded to the Pecos County and Ward County, Texas authorities.

Report from a Mena woman that her adult daughter is missing. The individual has been entered into ACIC as a missing person.

Arrested was Joseph R. Holmes, 31, of Mena, on a Charge of Obstructing Governmental Operations.

Report from complainant on Polk 11 near Wickes of a break-in to their residence, causing $200.00 in damages to a window. Investigation continues.

Report from a Mena man of being battered by an acquaintance. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of a disturbance in the Polk County Detention Center led to a Citation for Battery 3rd Degree being issued to David M. Fraser, 28, of Mena.

Report from a Mena woman of the violation of an Order of Protection. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of a domestic disturbance on Polk 419 near Potter.  Deputies responded. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Cardinal Lane near Acorn of problems regarding neighbor’s dogs.  Deputy advised parties of legal options.

Report from walk-in complainant of a previous incident with an acquaintance. Deputy advised complainant of legal options.

Report from a Hatfield woman of being harassed by an acquaintance. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested was Brandon S. Rippy, 25, of Mena, on a Probation Violation Warrant.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Kathy R. Harper, 37, of Mena, on Charges of DWI, Reckless Driving, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor 2nd Degree, No Liability Insurance and Refusal to Submit.

Report from complainant on Polk 61 near the Board Camp community that an unknown person had made unauthorized changes to a utility account.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 54 near Mena that their mailbox had been ran over.  Investigation continues.

Report of a battery on Polk 238 near Mena led to the arrest of Laura K. Giesel, 45, of Mena, on Charges of Battery 3rd Degree and Disorderly Conduct.

Report from complainant on Polk 267 near Cove of the theft of a winch, valued at $500.00.  Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance on Stone Lane near Acorn. Deputy responded.

Traffic stop on Polk 54 near Nunley led to the arrest of Thomas Z. Taylor, 27, of Mena, on Charges of DWI 2 and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.

Report of a domestic disturbance on Highway 375 West near the Shady Grove community.  Deputies responded.  One of the parties left the residence.

Report of a structure fire on Polk 49 in the Shady Grove community. The cause of the fire is suspected to be lightning.
