Polk County Sheriff’s Department – June 9-15, 2014

The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of June 9 – June 15, 2014.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

June 9, 2014

Report of a disabled vehicle in a creek on Polk 138 near Cove.

Report from complainant on Old Cove Road in Cove of an unauthorized person in their residence.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from walk-in complainant of the theft of phone minutes, valued at $50.00.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Polk 280 near Vandervoort of the theft of a motorcycle, valued at $11,000.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 671 near Mena of the theft of a weedeater.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Trailwood Lane near the Shady Grove community of the theft of a lawn mower and golf clubs, valued at $250.00.  The items were located at a local recycling facility.  The complainant refused to press charges.

Arrested was Alan F. Elledge, 43, of Cove, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

June 10, 2014

Arrested was Kevin L. Grahn, 20, of Mena, on a Warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Use of a Communication Device.

Arrested was Andrea D. Cowden, 53, of Mena, on a Warrant for Probation Violation.

Report from complainant on Polk 42 near the Potter community of the theft of a floor jack, valued at $100.00.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested was Rhonda A. Byers, 41, of Mena, on a Warrant for Probation Violation.

Report from complainant on Edwards Street in Vandervoort of the theft of tools.  Investigation continues.

Report from an organization on Stevenson Street in Hatfield of the break-in and damage to a building,  and theft of several household goods, valued at $245.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 56 in the Nunley community of an individual selling items without proper authorization.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

June 11, 2014

Report from complainant on Polk 81 in the Shady community of a break-in that damaged a door and frame, totaling losses at $454.95.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 121 near Mena of the theft of jewelry, collectibles, coins and prescription medication, all valued at $8,290.00.  Investigation continues.

Arrested was Kelly R. Smith, 24, of Mena, on a Warrant for Probation Violation.

Arrested by an officer with Probation and Parole was Cynthia C. Busby, 30, of Dover, on a Montgomery County Warrant.

Arrested was Austin C. McCulley, 19, of Hatfield, on a Charge of Terroristic Threatening 2nd Degree.

Arrested was Nathaniel J. Noble, 28, of Mena, on a Hill County, Texas Warrant.

June 12, 2014

Arrested was David J. Hill, 41, of Mena, on a Warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Appear.

Arrested was Rachel M. Jones, 36, of Mena, on a Warrant for Probation Violation.

Arrested was Timberly G. Elledge, 42, of Cove, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Report from walk-in complainant of being harassed by an acquaintance.  Complainant was advised of legal options.

Report from two Mena youths of receiving threatening text messages from another Mena youth.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

June 14, 2014

Report from complainant on Polk 45 near the Shady Grove community of the theft of a weedeater, valued at $248.00.  Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance on Mena Street in Hatfield.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Traffic stop led to a 17-year-old Mena male being issued Juvenile Citations for Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver, Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Intent to Defraud Drug or Alcohol Screening Test.  Another 17-year-old Mena male was issued a Juvenile Citation for Possession of Alcohol by a Minor.  Both juveniles were released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report of a domestic disturbance on Butler Circle in Hatfield led to the arrest of Timothy A. Breeden, 31, of Hatfield, on a Charge of Aggravated Assault on a Family Member.

Report from complainant on Polk 412 near the Potter community of the theft of hunting equipment, DVDs, change and diesel, all valued at $235.00.  Investigation continues.

June 15, 2014

Report from a business in Hatfield of the theft of motor fuel, valued at $24.14.  Investigation continues.

Report from a church on Highway 370 in the Opal community of the theft of household goods and building materials, all valued at $200.00.  Investigation continues.

Report of an ATV accident on Polk 59 near the Board Camp community.  One victim was airlifted to a hospital in Little Rock, while another victim was transported to a local hospital.

Report of a structure fire on Polk 42 in the Potter community.  Investigation continues into origin of the blaze.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked three vehicle accidents this week.

Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 27 Incarcerated Inmates; 11 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility, of which 3 are currently out of jail on a monitoring system.
