The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of November 18 – November 24, 2013. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

Report from complainant on Polk 130 near the Rocky community of the theft of several tools valued at $650.00. Investigation continues.
November 20, 2013
Report from a local business of receiving a fraudulent check. Arrested was Matt Cannon, 33, of Mena, on Warrants for Forgery, Violation of the Arkansas Hot Check Law and Probation Violation.
Report of two missing Shreveport, LA women believed to be in Polk County. The women were later located in Montgomery County.
Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Gullermo R. Pernas, 55, of Hatfield, on Charges of DWI, Driving Left of Center, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License and Failure to Register a Vehicle.
November 21, 2013
Report of problems with a 12-year-old Mena male led to the youth being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.
Report from complainant on Polk 54 near Mena of the theft of a tree stand, valued at $250.00. Investigation continues.
November 22, 2013
Report from complainant of the theft of an Ipad, valued at $500.00. A 15-year-old Grannis female was issued a Juvenile Citation for Theft by Receiving. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.
Report of problems with a 17-year-old Mena male led to the youth being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.
Report from a Mena woman of inappropriate contact between her daughter and an acquaintance. Investigation has been turned over to the Arkansas State Police.
Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Joseph F. Hinkle, 36, of Cove, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.
November 23, 2013
Report from complainant on Highway 71 South near Hatfield of the theft of $800.00 cash. Investigation continues.
Report from complainant on Polk 34 near Hatfield of a suspicious vehicle being in their driveway. Officer responded, found nothing out of the ordinary.
Report from Mena Regional Health System of a gunshot victim. Arrested was Lori J. Rose, 38, of Mena, on Charges of Domestic Battery 2nd Degree, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threatening and Residential Burglary.
Report of a vehicle in the ditch on Polk 144 near Hatfield led to the arrest of Jamie M. Burch, 33, of Hatfield, on Charges of No Driver’s License and Careless/Prohibited Driving. Also arrested was Jeremy C. Burch, 40, of Hatfield, on a Charge of Disorderly Conduct.
November 24, 2013
Report of a disorderly female on the grounds of the Polk County Detention Center led to the arrest of Angela L. Goins, 37, of Mena, on Charges of Criminal Trespass and Disorderly Conduct.
Report from complainant on Rock Creek Lane near the Potter community of the theft of two tree stands and a fish cage, all valued at $530.00. Investigation continues.
Report from walk-in complainant of being harassed by an acquaintance. Investigation continues.
Report from complainant on Rock Creek Lane near Potter of having two dogs that had been shot. Investigation continues.
Request for assistance from a 16-year-old Wickes male. Officer responded. Investigation continues.
Report from Cossatot River School District of vandalism at the Wickes campus, causing damages totaling $500.00. Investigation continues.
Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Bryant G. Bullard, 54, of Mena, on Charges of DWI, Careless/Prohibited Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Refusal to Submit, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
Arrested was Teresa M. Denton, 41, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.
