Polk County Sheriff’s Department – November 4 – 10

The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of November 4 – November 10, 2013.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

November 4, 2013

Report of a fight on Elk Drive near Mena. Suspect left the scene before officer arrived.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested was David D. Heard, 27, of Mena, on two Warrants for Failure to Appear.

Report of a 12-year-old Hatfield male being struck by a vehicle that did not stop afterwards.  Investigation continues.

November 5, 2013

Report of a domestic disturbance on Polk 117 near Mena. A 15-year-old Mena male was issued Juvenile Citations for Disorderly Conduct and Possession of an Intoxicating Liquor by a Minor.  The juvenile was later released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from complainant on Polk 676 near the Acorn community that someone had broken their front door while they were away, causing damages to the door and frame

Report from a business on Highway 71 North in Mena of the theft of a bottle of wine.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Kayla N. Pringle, 18, of Mena, on Charges of Speeding, No Seatbelt and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.

Arrested was Marylon L. Colbert, 60, of Mena, on Charges of DWI, Careless/Prohibited Driving and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, and a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

November 6, 2013

Arrested was Justin M. Cannon, 25, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

November 7, 2013

Arrested was Howard W. Blume, 18, of Mena, on a Charge of Battery 3rd Degree.

Traffic stop on Highway 71 North in Hatfield led to the arrest of Miranda R. Harris, 33, of Wickes, on Charges of Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License and Faulty Equipment.

Arrested was William M. Stiles, 27, of Mountainburg, on a Warrant for Violation of the Arkansas Hot Check Law.

November 8, 2013

Report of a disorderly 16-year-old Wickes male led to the youth being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from a Mena youth of receiving harassing text messages.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on School Street in Cove of the theft of $70.00 in change.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 18 near the Hatton community of the theft of prescription medication, valued at $15.00, from a mailbox. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Two Bears Lane near the Opal community of someone living on their family property without permission. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Traffic stop on Highway 71 South near Cove led to the arrest of Miranda R. Harris, 33, of Wickes, on Charges of Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Faulty Equipment.

November 9, 2013

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Eric D. Revels, 29, of Mena, on Charges of Public Intoxication and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Chad E. Terrell, 31, of Mena, on a Charge of Public Intoxication.

November 10, 2013

Report of a domestic disturbance led to a 16-year-old Mena male being issued Juvenile Citations for Disorderly Conduct and Possession of Intoxicating Liquor by a Minor.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Traffic stop on Highway 8 West near the Rocky community led to the arrest of Jamie E. Westervelt, 28, of Mena, on Charges of DWI, Driving Left of Center and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.
