Polk County Sheriff’s Department – October 21 – 27

The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of October 21 – October 27, 2013.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

October 21, 2013

Report of two juveniles sending inappropriate material to one another via cell phones.  As a result, a 15-year-old female and a 15-year-old male were each issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct and released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report of a disturbance on Anders Avenue in Hatfield.  Officer advised subject to not return to the property.

October 22, 2013

Arrested was Christopher D. Brown, 29, of Mena, on a Charge of Public Intoxication.

Report from walk-in complainant of being harassed by an acquaintance.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Polk 44 near Mena of the attempted fraudulent use of a social security number.

Report of a 15-year-old male with a concealed weapon led to the youth being issued Juvenile Citations for Carrying a Weapon and Theft of Property.  The juvenile was released to a parent/guardian.

Report of a structure fire on Dickerson Lane near Cove.  The origin is believed to be a bumped propane valve.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Kalyn E. Meredith, 20, of Cove, on a Charge of Criminal Trespass.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Alan K. Rector, 38, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

October 23, 2013

Traffic stop on Polk 93 near the Potter community led to the arrest of John K. Robertson, 39, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Report of an individual waving a gun around on Tenth Street in Mena led to the arrest of Jason D. Wilkerson, 24, of Mena, on a Charge of Fleeing.

Report of a fight between two juveniles led to a 14-year-old female being issued a Juvenile Citation for Battery 3rd Degree.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Arrested was Allen R. Henry, 24, of Mena, on a Warrant for Battery 3rd Degree.

October 24, 2013

Arrested was Alberto Zamarripa, 39, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

October 25, 2013

Report from a 17-year-old female of receiving inappropriate material on a cell phone.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 74 near Mena of the theft of used vehicle parts and farm equipment, valued at $1,595.00.  Arrested was Jason D. Wilkerson, 24, of Mena, on a Charge of Theft.

Report from a Mena woman of being allegedly sexually assaulted.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Polk 289 near Cove of the theft of farm equipment and household goods, valued at $1,225.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 74 near the Ink community of the theft of tools, valued at $950.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 14 near Grannis of the theft of a breaker box, valued at $200.00.  Investigation continues.

October 27, 2013

Report from complainant on East North Street in Cove of a break-in at a vacant residence, causing $150.00 in damages to a door.  Investigation continues.

Report from a Louisiana man, while staying at a local motel, of the theft of an ATV, valued at $25,000.00.  Investigation continues.
