September 11, 2017

Report from complainant on Polk 676 near Acorn of being harassed by an acquaintance.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of an ATV accident on Pedal to the Metal Lane near Shady.  Deputy responded.

Report of a disturbance on Mills Lane near Potter.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested was Chance R. Wherley, 20, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report of $250.00 in damages to electronics led to a 16-year-old female being issued Juvenile Citations for Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from complainant on Polk 238 near Mena of $300.00 in damages done to a vehicle.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Hidden Lane near Mena of an unauthorized person on their property.  Complainant refused to press charges.

Report from complainant on Polk 19 near Cove of $1,000.00 in damages done to a vehicle.  Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance on Polk 32 near Cove led to the arrest of Phillip A. Riley, 48, of Cove, on a Charge of Battery 2nd Degree and Warrants for Failure to Appear and Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report from complainant on Polk 88 near Ink of an unauthorized person in their residence.  Deputy responded.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Polk 92 near Shady Grove of a missing firearm, valued at $300.00.  Investigation continues.

Arrested was Veronica M. Maddox, 20, of Cove, on a Warrant for Theft of Property.

September 13, 2017

Arrested was Dustin C. Umfress, 30, of Galveston, TX, on a Galveston County, TX Warrant.

A 16-year-old male was issued a Juvenile Citation for Criminal Mischief 1st Degree for $300.00 in damages done to school property in a previous report.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

September 14, 2017

Traffic stop on Polk 37 near Potter led to a Citation for Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License being issued to Billie C. Jennings, 57, of Mena.

Traffic stop on Highway 375 West near Potter led to the arrest of Adam W. Hurst, 34, of Mena, on Charges of Public Intoxication, Reckless Driving, Driving Left of Center, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Report from a Hatfield woman of problems with her 17-year-old daughter.  Deputy responded.

Report from complainant on Highway 71 South near Mena of an individual that refused to return a borrowed vehicle led to the arrest of Kaylie Stroud, 21, of Mena, on a Charge of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.

Arrested was Aaron M. Shores, 26, of Hatfield, on two Warrants for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Arrested was Michael A. White, 51, of Mena, on a Warrant for Probation Violation.

September 15, 2017

Report from complainant on Icy Lane near Wickes of the theft of a trailer, valued at $200.00.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested was Kalyn E. Lee, 24, of Cove, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Phyllis A. Winkley, 57, of Cove, on Charges of DWI, Driving Left of Center, No Seatbelt and Refusal to Submit.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Michael A. Roberts, 48, of Mena, on Charges of DWI and Refusal to Submit.

September 16, 2017

Arrested was Rocky E. Daugherty, 25, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Arrested was Herbert L. Williams, 23, of Mena, on Charges of Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Manufacture of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance.

September 17, 2017

Report of a disturbance on Highway 8 East near Nunley.  Deputies responded.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested was Christopher A. Brown, 21, of Mena, on Charges of Public Intoxication, Theft of Property, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked one vehicle accident this week.

Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 22 Incarcerated Inmates, with 8 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility
