Polk County Sheriff’s Department – September 23 – 29

The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of September 23 – September 29, 2013.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

September 23, 2013

Report of a broken window, causing $300.00 in damages.  A Juvenile Citation was issued to a 16-year-old Mena male on a Charge of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from complainant on S. Golden Lane near Mena of a break-in and theft, causing damages and taking household goods, totaling losses at $155.00.  Investigation continues.

Traffic stop on Highway 71 South near the Potter community led to the arrest of Anita L. Sant, 39, of El Dorado, on Charges of DWI and Driving Left of Center.

Report from complainant on Highway 8 West near the Shady Grove community of the theft of tools, valued at $1,200.00, taken from a storage unit.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from Mena Regional Health System of an alleged abuse victim.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

September 24, 2013

Report of a disturbance on Polk 136 near Cove led to the arrest of Michael C. Meredith, 24, of Cove, on a Charge of Battery 3rd Degree.

Report from complainant on Polk 75 near Mena of the theft of a firearm, tools and gas, all valued at $928.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 21 near Cove that a hay bale, valued at $30.00, had been set on fire.  Investigation continues.

Report from walk-in complainant of being harassed by a family member.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Polk 38 near Hatfield of the theft of welding equipment, valued at $1,300.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Highway 71 North in the Acorn community of the theft of gas, change and a stun gun, all valued at $45.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 286 near Hatfield of being harassed and threatened by acquaintances.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of a missing 6-year-old Mena female.  The child was located and returned to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from complainant on Smith Lane near Mena that a boat had been left in their driveway.  Investigation continues.

Report from walk-in complainant of being threatened and harassed by acquaintances.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

September 25, 2013

Report from complainant on Hidden Lane near Mena of the theft of a vehicle, valued at $3,500.00.  Vehicle was later recovered with a blown engine.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 76 W near Mena of damage to a mailbox, valued at $60.00.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from walk-in complainant of being threatened by two individuals.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

September 26, 2013

Report from complainant on Bonner Circle in Mena of the theft of a weedeater, valued at $200.00.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of a disturbance led to a 15-year-old male being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from complainant on Polk 47 near Mena of the theft of 60 feet of cable and buckles, valued at $80.00.  Investigation continues.

Arrested was Marcus O. Goodner, 19, of Hatfield, and William L. Copelin, 19, of Mena, each on a Charge of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree.

September 27, 2013

Arrested was Rusty L. Revels, 27, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report from complainant on Polk 54 near Mena of the attempted break-in to her residence, causing $50.00 in damages.  Investigation continues.

September 28, 2013

Arrested was Charles D. Miner, 40, of Waldron, on a Body Attachment Warrant.

Arrested was James D. Cochran, 30, of Hatfield, on Charges of Criminal Trespass and Public IntoxicationAlso arrested was Rebecca A. McEntire, 34, of Hatfield, on Charges of Criminal Trespass and Faulty Equipment.

Report from complainant on Polk 47 near the Shady Grove community of vandalism to two vacant homes, causing damages of $3,000.00, and the theft of appliances, valued at $400.00.  Investigation continues.

September 29, 2013

Report of a suspicious vehicle on Polk 168 near the Potter community led to the arrest of David D. Heard, 27, of Mena, on a Body Attachment Warrant.

Report of a domestic disturbance on Highway 88 East near Mena.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Traffic stop on Highway 71 South in Mena led to the arrest of Thomas W. Duncan, 43, of Mena, and Jaythan T. Starr, 21, of Oden, each on a Charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
