Polk County Sheriff’s Department – September 30 – October 6, 2013

The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of September 30 – October 6, 2013.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

September 30, 2013

Report from a Mena woman of problems concerning non-payment of child support and fraudulent use of a child’s identity.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of a disruptive youth led to a 16-year-old Mena male being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from walk-in complainant of finding their stolen vehicle at a local towing business.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of two 16-year-old Cove males hitting one another led to the two youths being issued Juvenile Citations for Battery 3rd Degree.  The juveniles were released to the custody of parent/guardians.

Request for a welfare check on Polk 41 near the Shady Grove community.

Arrested was Bobby Bunyard, 36, of Mena, on Warrants for six counts of Violation of the Arkansas Hot Check Law.

Report from KCS Railroad of an object on the tracks in the Potter community.  Officer responded.  Investigation continues.

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Shawn R. Watson, 38, of Grannis, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

October 1, 2013

Traffic stop on Highway 8 West near Mena led to the arrest of Jeremie E. Williamson, 37, of Mena, on Charges of DWI and Refusal to Submit.  Also arrested was David E. Williamson, 59, of Mena, on a Charge of Public Intoxication.

Arrested was Darrell W. Sanders, 43, of Watson, OK, on a Charge of Possessing an Instrument of Crime and a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Arrested was Jennifer K. Williams, 42, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

October 2, 2013

Arrested was Bradley J. Crawford, 18, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report of two juveniles playing recklessly in traffic led to a 12-year-old Mena male and a 13-year-old Hatfield female each being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct.  The juveniles were released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

October 3, 2013

Report of a disorderly 17-year-old Wickes female led to the youth being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

October 4, 2013

Report from complainant on Polk 98 near Wickes of the theft of an ATV valued at $5,200.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 4 near Grannis of two missing persons.  A search was conducted to no avail.  Officers determined that the missing persons were in Oklahoma and the search was turned over to the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office.

Arrested was Robin R. Matheson, 46, of Mena, on Warrants for two counts of Delivery of Methamphetamine.

Traffic stop on Highway 71 North in Mena led to the arrest of Marlena F. Parnell, 44, of Mena, on Charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose to Deliver, Improper Use of Vehicle Tag, No Driver’s License, No Liability Insurance and Failure to Register Vehicle.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Charlie R. Scott, 22, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

October 5, 2013

Traffic stop on Polk 37 near the Potter community led to the arrest of Amanda S. Dodds, 33, of Mena, on Charges of Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, No Proof of Insurance and Expired Tags.

Request of a welfare check on Highway 88 West near Mena.

Report of two juveniles with illegal contraband led to a 16-year-old Mena male and a 17-year-old Mena male each being issued a Juvenile Citation for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  The juveniles were released to the custody of parent/guardians.

October 6, 2013

Report from complainant on Polk 133 near Mena of problems with a vehicle that had been sold.  Officer advised of legal options.

Report from complainant on Port Arthur Street in Hatfield of the theft of an antique tractor, valued at $1,200.00.  Arrested was Edward J. Yahn, 19, of Mena, on Charges of Theft of Property and Criminal Trespass.
