He was born August 30, 1931 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Roy Bass, Sr. and the late Amanda Yola Harroff Bass. He was married to Eula Mae Dilbeck Bass and was a minister of God. Brother Bass was truly a man of God and loved sharing the gospel with people and also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, and a friend to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by wife Eula Bass of Mena, Arkansas; sons LeRoy Bass and wife Mary of Waldron, Arkansas, Jesse Bass and wife Debra of Mena, Arkansas, Daniel Bass and wife Teresa of Parks, Arkansas, Johnny Bass and wife Glenda of Mena, Arkansas, Samuel Bass and wife Tina of Ozark, Arkansas; daughters Joanne Steele and husband Ronald of Ozark, Arkansas, Kathy Rowland and husband Joseph of Sims, Arkansas, Amanda Meredith and fiancé, Daniel Spreier of Mena, Arkansas; sister Georgie Wisdom of Waldron Arkansas; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Amanda Yola Bass, Sr.; brothers Ray Bass, Robert Bass, Jesse Bass; sister Fern Kenison; grandson Jared Meredith; and great-grand-daughter Lilly Bass.
Funeral service will be Monday, December 23, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Beasley Wood Chapel with Brother Billy Thomasson and Brother J. D. Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in the Rock Springs Cemetery in Posey Hollow under the direction of Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Family and friends visitation will be Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Military honors will be rendered by the Polk County Veterans Association.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Bass, Stephen Bass, Benji Bass, Tim Bass, Josh Bass, Allen, Brumbelow, Isaac Bass, Aaron Meredith and Curtis Bass.
