If you are looking for entertainment the next couple of weeks, look no further than Ouachita Little Theatre on Main Street. After an enthusiastic opening of “Four Weddings and an Elvis” last weekend and a special Valentines Day show at Mena Mountain Resort, you still have three more chances to catch this comedy live on stage. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday is at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or advanced seating is available at the OLT office 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on weekdays.
The movie party for this month was pushed back one week to allow for the February 14 performance of “Four Weddings,” but that doesn’t mean the film choice isn’t inspired by everyone’s favorite romantic holiday, Valentine’s Day. Be sure to catch the free showing of “Sleepless in Seattle” at OLT, 6:30 p.m. on February 21. This timeless comedy stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, and won the hearts of movie-goers in 1993. All friends of OLT are invited to come and enjoy the complimentary movie. As always, the concession stand is open for business with $1 items, and donations are always appreciated.
“Gosdpell” auditions were held February 13, but you have another chance to try-out for this popular and lively musical on Thursday, February 15 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Directed by Jessica Kropp, this ground-breaking 1971 musical production is based on the gospels of Matthew and Luke. Those auditioning should be prepared to sing the chorus of “God Save the People” and a solo selection based on the character for which you are trying out. If you have any questions about the events at OLT, check out the webpage at ouachitalittletheatre.org or our Facebook page.
