Team Bass Holds First Tournament

SUBMITTED – Mena Team Bass held their first tournament of the season last weekend on DeQueen Lake. Coming in 1st place were team Cobb/Fielding with 21.03 lbs. In 2nd, Mitchell/Mitchell yielded 19.61 lbs. and Frachiseur/Towers took 3rd with 15.66 lbs. Big Bass was awarded to team Cobb/Fielding for their 6.53 lb catch. Mena Public Schools held a Donuts with Dad event on Friday, March 17, 2017. Each of the district’s four campuses allowed dads to eat breakfast with their children, being served donuts, milk, and fruit. The schools reported a great turnout for the event.

Acorn Archery Receives Grant for 3D Targets

SUBMITTED – The Acorn Archery Team recently expanded its competition to include 3D Targets. Ten 3D targets were purchased with the assistance of the Farmer’s Cooperative through a grant with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
