The Polk County Sheriff’s Department is currently searching for a man that was reported missing this morning [Friday, July 14, 2017]. Sheriff Scott Sawyer said that Kevin Birdwell, a 52-year old resident of Board Camp was last heard from on Wednesday and has not been seen since. Birdwell has a cabin on Polk Road 61 in Board Camp, which was his last known whereabouts.
Sheriff Sawyer said there are no signs of foul play at Birdwell’s cabin and that his truck, motorcycle, and dog were all there. Birdwell’s girlfriend reported that she had spoken to him by phone on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. She had neighbors check Birdwell’s residence on Thursday night, July 13, and when not seen by 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, July 14, reported him as missing to the Sheriff’s Department.
Kevin Birdwell is described as 5 ft. 7 in. tall, 190 lbs. Sawyer added that Birdwell is listing as missing within the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) system and the department has issued area wide BOLO (be on the lookout) alerts to neighboring police departments as well.
