CASA Announces Spring Fundraiser – ‘I Support CASA Day: May 15th

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is a local 501c3 organization that advocates on behalf of children placed in foster care and depends on the support of grants, the local community, and volunteers to serve the more than 60 children currently in foster care in Polk and Sevier Counties.

Executive Director Cynthia Martin is asking for the community’s continued support for their upcoming spring fundraiser that they hope will give everyone an opportunity to donate and to learn more, “CASA is grateful for the past support that our wonderful community has given our program. In 2017, your generosity enabled 27 caring individuals to advocate on behalf of 100 children in foster care.  We are now asking for your continued support.”

CASA volunteers serve as a crucial resource for the children, “Whatever the age, children removed from their home because of abuse or neglect face a frightening, profound unknown. CASA volunteers make sure they don’t face it alone. They are strong compassionate adults that are a consistence presence in their lives. Please help us continue our efforts to provide a CASA volunteer for every child that finds themselves through no fault of their own in foster care.”

Martin invites the community to join them for this year’s event, “On May 15th, we will host our first ‘I Support CASA’ campaign that will now serve as our Spring Fundraiser. We look forward to opening our doors at 812 De Queen Street; Suite G, from 7:30am until 5:30pm to anyone wishing to make a donation or learn more about CASA. Donations of any size will be graciously accepted in our office or online on our Facebook page, CASA Ouachita Region and follow the link. All donations are tax deductible and will serve to positively impact children in foster care.”

For more information please contact Cynthia Martin at 479-243-9277 or 479-234-8566. Thank you for making a difference!
