He was born January 8, 1932 in Marshall, Arkansas to the late Avery C. Jackson and the late Rachel Lynch Jackson. He was happily married to his wife Ava until her passing. J.T. was a logger and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to play checkers and pool with his family and loved the games even more when he won! He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by son Mike and Debbie Jackson; daughter Sheila and Bryan Halbert; sisters-in-law Laverne Schoolfield, Nora Williams; brother-in-law Robert Lyons; grandchildren Dude and Becky Jackson, Tara and Shane Sexton, Sydney Jackson, Tasha and John Gardner, Josh and Jenna Lewis; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Avery and Rachel Jackson; his wife Ava Jackson; 2 brothers James Jackson and Webber Jackson; and 2 sisters Oma Thompson and Juanita Beavers.
Graveside services will be Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at White Oak Cemetery with Reverend Brian Richardson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
