The Mena LadyCats softball team competed in the Ashdown Invitational Tournament over the weekend.
The LadyCats pounded Avery, Texas Friday night 15-5. Macie Johnson, Reigha Smith, Morgan Puckett, and Emmi Hines had homeruns in the win.
On Saturday, the LadyCats defeated Dierks 12-2. Then the Mena girls were knocked off by Ashdown 8-1.
In the Ashdown contest, Freshman Mackenzie Vincent went the distance in the circle and allowed five earned runs. Vincent struck out three and walked four. Macie Johnson had two hits to lead Mena at the plate. Reigha Smith had a hit and the lone RBI for Mena in the game. Chloe Rocha, Morgan Puckett, Madi Lyle, and Carleigh Smart also had hits for the LadyCats.
Mena’s softball team will host Hope on Tuesday, before traveling to Dierks on Thursday. They’ll wrap up the week with a trip to Malvern on Friday.
