Peggy Jane Holder, age 81, of Mena, went to be the Lord Saturday, May 17, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born Sunday, April 30, 1933, to Elbert Dennis Foley and Mary Evelyn Benson Foley in Antlers, Oklahoma.
Peggy lived her life to the fullest and always had a quick-witted sense of humor. She enjoyed living life to the fullest and spending most of her time with family, for they were her most prized possession. She enjoyed many things in life, such as reading, doing crafts, sewing, crocheting, painting and doing crossword puzzles in ink; she also liked hearing Dean Martin sing. Peggy’s family and friends benefited from her talents and generous spirit. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Peggy personified the dutiful wife as described in Proverbs 31…strength and dignity were her clothing.she looked well to the ways of her household.her children have risen up and to bless her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George Holder; her son Michael Holder; her brother Gene Foley; and sister Mary Lane.
Peggy is survived by her three daughters Terry Francis of Mena, Karen Holder of Mena and Vicki Holder of Mena; five grandchildren Erika Duggan of Wickes, Jessica Shadden of Rogers, Angela Vaughn of Kansas City, Missouri, Melissa Hicks of Little Rock and Sara Parsons of Fayetteville; fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena. Interment will be in Six Mile Cemetery in Hatfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Ouachita Regional Hospice, 1106 South Mena Street, Mena, Arkansas 71953.
