National Recycle Day!

BY PROCLAMATION FROM THE GOVERNOR!

Today is America Recycles Day in Arkansas! Make sure to do your part and reduce, reuse and RECYCLE today, and every day!

If you need some help recycling or tips on how to get started check out this article from the Committee of Sustainability at the University of Arkansas Little Rock.

Cleanup season is over, but we need your wrap-up reports!

The Great Arkansas Cleanup season is now over, but we still need your reports of how your cleanups went!

Thank you for coordinating a cleanup this year! This official Wrap-Up Report assists Keep Arkansas Beautiful in collecting data for this statewide event and in reporting to all sponsors on the benefit of their contributed products or services.

If you haven’t yet, please fill yours out here.

We reached our goal of getting all 75 counties in Arkansas involved in a cleanup. Way to go, volunteers! You make Arkansas a better place to live, work and play.

Now that the Great Arkansas Cleanup season is over, we are giving shout-outs and thank-yous to our groups who participated this fall

Head over to our social pages over the next few weeks to see the wonderful groups who participated in a cleanup. The Hatfield group, who cleaned up over 600 pounds of litter, was one of the four images that made the press release.

Another group that made the press release is the Yell County Wildlife Federation (YCWF). The woman at the front of the Hatfield picture, Lanette Jordan, is the niece of Mena native Wayne Shewmake, who is part of the YCWF.

Volunteer spotlight!

BIG THANKS to Wayne Shewmake and the Yell County Wildlife Federation who gathered 38 volunteers and collected more than 350 lbs of litter.

From Wayne: “We had a great time, 38 volunteers, got some creeks, roads, trails and National Park campsites cleaned up. As well as planted seeds for wildlife, great time camping for the students.”
