Tommy Gale Ashley, age 72, of Mena, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Mena Regional Health System. He was born on Sunday, November 18, 1945 to Modean Titsworth Ashley and Henry Ashley in Mena, Arkansas.
Tommy was a member of the Dallas Avenue Baptist Church. He was a hard worker and for anyone that knew him seen that he always lived life to the fullest. Tommy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He and his wife Paula owned Polk County Meat Processing for 15 years while he worked for Del Mesa Farms in Glenwood and retired from there. Tommy loved fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening and being outdoor and was a member of the Elks Lodge and Six Mile Hunting Club. His wife and family were very important to him and he loved having all the family together for cookouts. Tommy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a great friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers in law, Bill Walston and Danny Walston.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Paula Ashley of Mena, his son and daughter in law, Brad and Mandy Ashley of Mount Belvieu, Texas; his daughter and son in law, Tonya and Brandon Griffiths of Van Buren, Arkansas; two sisters, Judy Lane of Mena, and Linda Berry of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren, Justin Ashley of Mount Belvieu, Devin Ashley of Mena, Bailee and Drew Griffiths of Van Buren, and Dalton, Sabrina, and Miranda Pittser of Mount Belvieu; one brother in law, Monty Warren; two sister in laws, Pam and husband, Bobby Brooks Sr. of Mena, and Sherry Warren of Mena; several nieces and nephews, Bobby and Staci Brooks Jr. of Mena, Robby and Sherri Hines of Mena, Michael Warren and Dawn Bryan of Mena, Shannon and Cathy Roberts of Fort Smith, Houston and Carol Lane of Mena, John and Melinda Hawkins of Hatfield, Kevin and Lisa Berry of Oklahoma City, and Christy Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Max Dean officiating. Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park, with military honors, under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be general and the family will be receiving friend and family at the Ashley residence in Potter.
Pallbearers are Brent Gorden, Steve Bell, Jeff Johnson, Rod Titsworth, Mitch Titsworth, Alan Titsworth, Jimmy Titsworth, and Lane Titsworth.
Honorary Pallbearers are Logan Titsworth, Mike Ward, Bobby Brooks Jr., Michael Warren, Ethan Davis, Houston Lane, Robby Hines, Jamie Williams, Ricky Pinkerton, Skip Smith and the Six Mile Hunting Club.
