Mena Water Utility has experienced a main water line break on the north end of Mena on Missouri Street that is currently affecting thousands of Mena water customers. Charles Pittman, Mena Water Utility Manager said that crews are currently working on the problem and are expecting to have it fixed by 10 p.m. Friday evening.
Pittman said that customers are experiencing extremely low water pressure but said the water is safe for consumption. He said the break is weather related. Pittman was unable to say, at this time, how many gallons have been lost.
There is no need to call the utility at this time as they are aware of the issue but Pittman said that customers still experiencing any issues by Saturday morning should call 479-394-2761.
