William Shelby Head

Mr. William Shelby Head, age 80, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in Springdale.

Shelby was born on June 25, 1938 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Mayo William Head and the late Dola Malesia Patten Head.  He was happily married to Mary Alice Dunfee Head and was a member of the First Christian Church in Mena.  He and his wife owned and operated The Shop and was an integral pull for tourism in the Mena area with their unique gifts, natural health products and services.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all.  He will be missed by his family and the community in which he served and lived.

He is survived by his wife Mary Alice Head.  Son William Christopher “Chris” Head.  Daughters Missy Head Tedford and husband John; Kelly Mos and husband Darrell.  Grandchildren Aly Pruett and husband Will; CJ Mos; Kayley Hill and husband Jacob; Travis Mos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mayo and Dola Head, and a grandson, John William Tedford.

Mr. Head was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home.  A memorial service was held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Mena with Brother Gary Garrett officiating.
