Willis H. “Bill” Hunter

Willis-Hunter-picMr. Willis H. “Bill” Hunter, age 85, of Cove, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at his home.

He was born March 7, 1929, in Amarillo, Texas, the son of the late Doyle Hunter and the late Lois Rose Avey. He was married to Juanita Louise Hook until her passing. Bill and his wife Louise were the owners and operators of Hunter Sporting Goods. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by daughters Debra Moore and husband Bob of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kathryn McAmis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sandra Kendall and husband Scott of Edmond, Oklahoma; sister Doylene Sunderman of Houston, Texas; 7 grandchildren Stephanie, Dustin, Natalie, Sarah, Caitlyn, Bryan, and Lauren; 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Doyle Hunter and Lois Avey; his wife Louise Hunter; and a sister Maxine Ray.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cove First Baptist Church with Brother Ron Ladd officiating.  Interment follows in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Cove under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening, May 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Moore, Scott Kendall, Dustin Abla, Josh Cope, Sammy Davidson, and Terry Scott.  Honorary pallbearers will be Maurice Manasco and Frank Hoyle.

The Hunter family would like to express our gratitude to the wonderful people of Cove, Arkansas. The outpouring of support and care shown from the members of the First Baptist Church of Cove was an amazing blessing.  We especially would like to thank Pastor Ron and Tanya, Frank and Willa Dean Hoyle, Maurice Manasco, Spike Phillis, Debbie Hendricks and Terry Scott.
